Today we began by reading an example rhetorical analysis in our textbook and completing these questions. We then transitioned back to discussing Oprah Winfrey's Time's Up speech. Students chose one appeal (either ethos OR logos, but NOT pathos) and met with a partner to discuss the prewriting questions. If you were absent, you'll need to complete this work independently. Finally, students completed the writing template and then wrote a final draft of their paragraphs. These final draft paragraphs are due at the beginning of class on Thursday. Please follow the directions in the handout.
Our test on rhetorical terms is on October 18! Are you ready? Do you know all the terms on the blue sheet? Use this link to study. I recommend clicking "learn" which will force you to get every term correct twice before it lets you finish. Once you've mastered that, move on to the matching games for a more fun way to study.
