Friday, 10/4: Oprah Rhetorical Analysis

Before watching our next speech, we needed to gain background knowledge to establish the OCCASION for the speech.

We then learned more about our SPEAKER.

We then watched the speech.

Finally, we went back through the speech and focused our analysis. We examined paragraph 2 specifically for ethos, paragraph 5 for pathos, and paragraph 7 for ethos. If you were absent, you will need to review the speech and look specifically at these paragraphs for these appeals.

Homework: answer the questions (in absent work binder) on a separate piece of paper. Due Tuesday at the beginning of the class period.
