Parent/Student Update and Assignments Week of 4/27

If you submit work AFTER the grade has been entered in Skyward, and you have a O and MS for the assignment, please fill out this form to notify me that the work has been submitted. Please do not email me assignments.

Students should review last week's graded work to see my comments.

Click here for all of this week's work.

Grading:  OSPI released its grading policy last week, which led to ISD doing the same on Thursday.  While it was made clear that student grades cannot drop from where they were on March 17, you will need to continue engaging in class assignments / lessons in order to earn credit for the course.

April 21 and 24 Update and Assignments

Welcome back to required school! I expect this transition to be a little bumpy as we all learn new ways of doing things. I will do my very best to be patient with you while we make the transition, and I ask you do the same for me. I have learned a lot about online resources over the last few weeks, but I imagine there will be mistakes or broken links as we progress. Please bear with me. At the same time, if at any point you have personal or health issues that prevent you from meeting schoolwork deadlines, please communicate with me. This is not a normal life we are all living right now. I understand that flexibility and compassion are needed for all of us.

That being said, we have one last unit to cover this year. Please find all of this week's work linked here in this document.

Here is the link to the late work form. If you are submitting work that is currently marked MISSING in Skyward, you must also submit this form.

Here are the links to Flipgrid (NEW grids for the graded period of the year!):

Office hours this week:
Monday and Friday 10:30 am -12 pm
Wednesday 11:30 am - 1 pm
I will be at my computer and available to answer emails quickly during these hours. I will respond to email received outside of these hours as quickly as possible.

Here is our whole week linked in one document! {CLICK HERE FOR ALL OF THIS WEEK'S WORK!}

Pick a discussion question from the list in this document
  1. Post a video on Flipgrid addressing the question. Make sure your video includes some reasons or examples from the book. (Remember, you must sign in by clicking OFFICE and then using your ISD info.)
  2. Watch the videos of your peers.
  3. Post a response video to at least one peer. Here is a video showing how to do that. (Password is liberty.)
  4. Finish reading the book and check back on Wednesday for our final amazing teacher video about the book and final Flipgrid discussion about this book.
  5. If and when you submit late/missing work, please complete this form. I am having a hard time tracking the various ways in which students are submitting work, and this form will allow me to collect information in ONE place. Thank you for helping me streamline things!
Have a great week, enjoy the sun, and be safe. 💗
